Frequently asked questions
booking + getting started
-
Quite a few, honestly. I offer photography, visual identity, graphic design, illustration, web design, print design, and other creative work that doesn’t always fit into one neat little box. On the photography side, that includes portraiture, events, commissioned landscapes, product, real estate, and more. I’m open to a wide range of projects if it feels like a good fit.
-
Yes. I do photography as well as branding and design work, and sometimes those things overlap in really nice ways. Some people come to me for one specific need, and others are looking for a more cohesive visual direction across multiple pieces. Either way, I’m happy to talk through what makes the most sense for you.
-
That’s totally fine! You do not need to come to me with everything perfectly figured out. A lot of people know they need something, but aren’t totally sure what that something is yet, and that’s part of the process. Reach out anyway, and we can sort through it together.
-
If you already know what you need, great. If not, no stress. Just choose “Other” when you fill out the form and tell me a little about what you’re looking for. From there, I can help point you in the right direction.
-
Once you submit an inquiry, I’ll read through it, get a sense of what you’re looking for, and follow up by email as soon as I can. From there, I may ask a few more questions, talk through details, and figure out the best next steps depending on the project.
-
Yes. All of my quotes are custom. Every project is a little different, so pricing depends on the scope, timeline, and what the work actually calls for. You’ll also have a chance to share your budget range in the inquiry form, which helps me understand where you’re at and build something that makes sense.
process
-
Working with me is collaborative, thoughtful, and refreshingly straightforward. I care a lot about making work that feels intentional, distinctive, and true to the person or brand behind it. I’m not interested in cookie-cutter creative work, and I’m guessing if you’re here, neither are you.
-
Yes. That’s often a big part of what I do. You do not need to show up with a fully mapped-out vision and a twelve-page mood board unless that’s your thing. If you have a loose idea, a feeling, a half-formed concept, or even just a vague sense of what you don’t want, I can help shape it into something stronger and more cohesive.
-
Yes, and that kind of overlap is one of my favorite places to work. If your project needs both design and photography, we can create something that feels unified from the start. It is often a lot stronger than trying to piece things together separately and hoping they magically become best friends.
-
Most projects start with an inquiry and a conversation. Once I have a better sense of what you need, I review the scope, talk through options, and figure out the next steps with you. From there, I move into the creative work itself with open communication along the way. Every project is a little different, but I always try to make the process feel clear, grounded, and easy to move through.
pricing
-
That depends on the project. Since no two jobs are exactly the same, pricing is based on the scope, timeline, and what the work actually calls for. Some things are pretty straightforward, and others are a little more involved. Once you fill out my inquiry form, I can get a better sense of what you need and go from there.
-
Both, depending on the project. Some photography services are offered as packages, while many design and creative projects are quoted based on scope or billed hourly. I try to price things in a way that makes sense for the work itself, rather than forcing every project into the same mold.
-
Yes. A deposit is typically required to lock in your session or project. The amount depends on the type of work, and I’ll always go over that with you before anything is finalized.
Location + Availability
-
Yes. I’m based in Minnesota and work with clients here as well as elsewhere, depending on the project.
-
I do. Travel is always something I’m open to, depending on the scope, location, and timing. If you have a project outside the Twin Cities or greater Minnesota area, send it my way and we can talk through it.
-
It really depends. Some times of year fill up faster than others, and project timelines can vary a lot depending on what you need. If you have a date in mind, reaching out sooner is always helpful, but if it’s a little last minute, don’t count yourself out just yet.
Fit + Values
-
I work with small businesses, artists, individuals, and brands who care about having visuals that feel thoughtful, intentional, and true to who they are. Some clients come in with a clear vision, and others just know they want something more cohesive, more distinct, or less generic than what they’ve had before. I’m usually a good fit for people who value creativity with personality and purpose.
-
Yes, absolutely. A big part of my approach is creating work that feels intentional, distinctive, and actually connected to the person or brand behind it. I’m much more interested in making something with clarity, character, and a real point of view than in forcing a project into a generic template.
